How to get to Rambai Tree Jungle Lodges
Rambai Tree is located in the village of Bukit Lawang next to the stunning primary rainforest of Gunung Leuser National Park in North Sumatra. The beautiful village of Bukit Lawang is the gateway to the National Park and the usual stop over point for people wanting to trek into the rainforest. We are a 3 hour drive from central Medan, the capital city of Sumatra and a 4 hour drive from Kuala Namu airport.
We can send a car and driver to transfer you from Medan, Kuala Namu airport or central Medan. We can also provide Western standard car seats (Britax and Graco) and booster seats for children aged from approximately 1 to 12 years of age.
Cost
Pickup from Kuala Namu airport or Medan central to Bukit Lawang costs Rp 700,000
Tourist Bus or Public Bus
There is a tourist bus which collects from Kuala Namu airport and drops to Bukit Lawang. The bus company is called Almasar and it costs Rp 80,000 per person. Unfortunately there is no timetable for the bus. The last bus is at about 4pm from the airport.
For those wanting to immerse themselves fully in Indonesian culture there is the option to take the public bus to Bukit Lawang from central Medan. It is not possible to take a public bus direct from the airport.
